Warrigal’s $70 Million Dollar Innovative Village to create 130 permanent jobs in the Illawarra

Illawarra based care & retirement living provider Warrigal is due to deliver a much needed lift to the Illawarra economy via their innovative new retirement and aged care community at Shell Cove according to Warrigal CEO Mark Sewell and Parliamentary Secretary to the Premier for the Illawarra and South Coast Gareth Ward.
This project is jointly funded by Warrigal and the NSW Government’s Restart NSW Illawarra Infrastructure fund.
“With site works due to commence in July, the Warrigal Shell Cove project will provide 366 jobs during construction injecting $43.3 million into the local economy. Upon completion a further 128 permanent direct care jobs will contribute to a further economic output of $166.6 million,” Mr Sewell said.
“Warrigal Shell Cove will be an exciting place for older people who grant us the privilege of offering them support through all the stages of their lives, and represent a significant milestone in the evolution of our organisation.
We are proud to be setting new benchmarks in quality, innovation and sustainability with this project,” Mr Sewell said.
“A $17M boost from the Restart NSW Illawarra Infrastructure Fund will assist construction of a much needed residential care home, and community facilities for older people. The new village will also provide a range of accessible services for older people in the region, and plays a significant part in the new Shell Cove Marina precinct,” Mr Ward said.
“The NSW Government is proud to be partnering with Warrigal in an effort to boost aged care opportunities in our region not to mention the importance of the jobs that will flow from this investment and this project.
“This is yet another example of the Restart NSW Illawarra Infrastructure fund boosting the Illawarra economy by partnering with respected local businesses to provide real outcomes that change people’s lives for the better.
